Presented by Patsy Catsos and Dr. Jane Muir
90-minute talk. New research demonstrates the efficacy of the FODMAP approach in the clinical management of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and establishes nutrient composition data for a growing database of U.S. and Australian foods. This session describes how the FODMAP approach can be used by clinicians to provide nutrition care tailored to achieve the dual outcomes of symptom management and adequate diet. (FODMAPs are certain short-chain, rapidly fermentable, osmotically active, dietary carbohydrates.)
